Halloween 2017

El pasado martes nuestros alumnos pasaron mucho miedo en el instituto. No había exámenes, ni controles, ninguna prueba, nadie tenía que salir a la pizarra, pero desde primera hora de la mañana se oyeron lamentos, ruidos de cadenas y se pudieron ver fantasmas, zombis, brujas, esqueletos, arañas, murciélagos...  Halloween había invadido el IESO Vía de la Plata sembrando el terror en todo el centro.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle >> Tips to make a difference.

There are little things each of us can do to help preserve and protect the environment.

• Here are some ideas on how you can make a difference every day:
• Reduce paper waste by using both sides of the paper and using scrap paper whenever possible. 
• Reduce lunch waste by buying snacks in large bags and putting them into small, reusable containers. The small bags cost up to 30 percent more and create 10 times as much garbage. 
• Use a reusable lunch box instead of disposable paper bags. 
• Whenever possible, purchase products with minimal packaging. 
• Reuse canvas, paper or plastic bags to bring home purchases. 
• Share magazines, books, movies and CDs with friends and family instead of buying new. 
• Buy recycled products — the greater the demand, the more products will be made with recycled materials.

Happy Hallowen

Como todos los años por estas fechas hemos trabajado la festividad de Halloween en las clases de inglés. A los alumnos les gusta llevar Jack-o'-lanterns (calabazas con velas) que exponemos en la entrada del centro. Este año, además de esta actividad y a petición de los alumnos, decidimos convocar un concurso de dulces con motivos de Halloween. A lo largo de la semana estuvimos preparando calabazas, murciélagos y fantasmas de colores naranja y negro para decorar un rincón del Hall donde colocar los terroríficos dulces y Jack-o'-lanterns. La respuesta ha sido genial. Las tartas, galletas y bizcochos estaban riquísimos aunque daba pena comérselos por lo bien adornados que estaban. Los alumnos ganadores recibieron un premio y a todos los participantes se les entregó un diploma. Gracias a todos los alumnos por colaborar y a las personas del centro que han ayudado a que todo saliera tan bien.
